MANSION HOUSE | EC4
Lunch in The City can be pretty depressing. You could walk into an EAT, drop £8, and come out with little more than a sandwich, a bag of crisps, and a feeling of despair that you’ve just been cheated.
Or, you could walk into Pull’d (next to Mansion House station), drop £6.45, and walk out with a huge tray containing half a rotisserie chicken, roast potatoes, and salads (and for 50p extra, roast vegetables). Then proceed to roll back to your desk with a smile on your face, only to watch the afternoon fly by as you battle a hefty food coma.
The food here is influenced by a fusion of fresh flavours from Asia, Latin America, Europe, and also Australia, where the founders grew up.
How it works: you select a base (wrap, baguette, brioche slider, salad, or rice), choose your filling (pork, beef, chicken, vegetarian - all slow-cooked), hit up one of their made-from-scratch sauces, then decide what you want as a topping from salsa, their signature coleslaw, salad, cheese, or tomato. A regular of any of those combos is £6.45, a small £4.95.
What's particularly great about this place is whilst it's aimed at the lunchtime rush, they're in fact open until 9pm Tuesday to Friday. Which means a tasty and healthy option for soaking up any after-work drinks. Note: this is mostly a take away spot, but there are also a few tables and bar seating inside.
