Eating healthily has never been so easy thanks to the discovery of Simple Health Kitchen near Mansion House. For the new, it can be somewhat bewildering as you join a fast moving queue, and are then bombarded with a choice of salads and proteins.
But for £6.90 you get two generous scoops of your choice of salad, and can add any protein including a turkey or bean burger, Peri-Peri chicken, or fish fillets, the latter for an extra 50p. There are also rotating extras which might include the likes of scotch eggs or breaded chicken.
In terms of salads, there's a lot of choice. Think avocado cherry tomato, courghetti, mixed roast Med veg, sweet potato wedges, green quinoa, wholewheat pasta, wild rice mix, kale and apple, lemon broccoli, kale hummus, sweetcorn with peas, and loads more. You name the salad, they pretty much have it.
The food is undoubtedly fresh, healthy and tasty. It's slightly hidden away amongst the alleyways of Bow Lane, fighting against the many food venues in the area. But Simple Health Kitchen is easily one of the best, and well worth the visit. They even do pancakes and granola at breakfast, and are open into the evening should you want to grab a box for dinner on your way home.
