The street food market in Swiss Cottage is virtually non-existent, you can see it on the face of every hard working vendor. When they’re not inundated with customers coming for the season’s produce at Wednesday’s Farmer's Market, they remain hidden in a dark corner behind one of London’s calmest tube stations on Eton Avenue every week.

But there's a great international range on offer for the intrepid explorer, from Portuguese pastries to Middle Eastern halal meats, and my personal favourite, the stall simply called 'Thai Food’.

I overlook their shabby exterior knowing their portions are well worth it; flavoursome, authentic and extremely generous, accompanied by a free tub of sweet chilli dip and made while you nibble on prawn crackers.

As the smokiness erupts from the wok, watch as they throw in fresh prawns fried with eggs and spring onions, before being mixed with finely chopped peanuts and chilli. Once the juices from the seafood create a delicate stock in the bottom of the pan, the noodles are added to soak up all that flavour.
