CHICKEN! Lots of chicken, to be precise. Cookhouse Joe have put on an impressive lunch deal - in terms of sheer quantity - that I can't remember seeing in a Central London restaurant before.
What do you get in your deal?
1: Half a large free range bird from the West Country, cooked on the rotisserie with Lebanese influences, succulent all the way through, with a sweet-ish, sticky-ish BBQ glaze.
2: A monster portion of thick cut chips.
3: Your choice of a side; I went for coleslaw. This was also copious.
4: Your choice of sauce; I chose the chilli, which isn’t too spicy, more aromatic than anything.
It might sound a little pricey for a lunch at £7, but really this could feed two regular humans (or one Team LCE member). This is probably double the food you could get for the same price at a certain international chicken chain (starts with “N”, ends in “Oh dear, that’s not a cheap eat”).
It’s certainly great value for money, perhaps even best in class, especially considering the sourcing of the quality meat - a definite recommendation. And you can take away, much to the envy of your co-workers when they see how much food you’ve come back with.
