BATTERSEA | SW11
Sam Mousawi opened Park Road Kitchen Rotisserie & Deli in 2014 to give Battersea locals a much needed spot for healthy, prepared food to take away. And in late 2016, they opened a second site on Northcote Road.
The main event is the rotisserie where Sam and team flame their chickens from Banham farm in Norfolk, after marinading them in-house. For £8 you can get 1/2 a chicken with their fantastic potato wedges, roasted with sea salt and lemon thyme - it's a weekly ritual in our flat. Alternatively, you could pick up a 1/4 chicken for £3.50 and go crazy in the salad section where an Ottolenghi-style selection awaits.
Then there are the lunch specials. Every weekday, from 12pm or so, a daily special is put on for £5-6 until it runs out. Pork belly Fridays have become a bit of an institution, but there's a comforting chicken pho on Tuesdays, and glorious ribs with mac'n'cheese on Mondays. They also currently do an epic chicken sandwich for £5 on Wednesdays, and an even larger slow roast lamb sandwich for £6 on Thursdays, both with fresh sourdough from Bread Bread bakery in Brixton.
