Playing on the nostalgia of the 80's-90's London child mucking about on street corners and chowing down on some tasty fried chicken, Billy and The Chicks is an upmarket and more grown up version of one of these establishments.
First there are the birds - free range Cotswold Whites, nicknamed ‘The Ballerina’ because of the way they dance around the fields. And they're damn juicy. For the rest of their ingredients, expect quality suppliers such as Bread Ahead, Neal’s Yard Dairy, Walter Rose & Son, and Spice Mountain for their secret herb and spice mix.
There's a permanent DJ booth with decks being mixed until late - this place is as much about music as it is about the food - and they've got a good selection of craft beers for all round fun times. In terms of eating within our London Cheap Eats budget, they have a great take away deal which includes one piece of chicken, their skin-on fries, and a soft drink for £5. You can also add another piece of chicken, or another side - such as their mac n' cheese, beans, or gravy - for just £2. And the deal is available whenever they're open.
