MARYLEBONE | W1U
High Mood Food is a vibrant cafe next door to Selfridges, serving up an incredible array of natural, fermented and living foods to power you through the flu-ridden months.
For just £7.50 (in Marylebone!) you can pick a large bowl of exactly what you fancy, layering up ferments, protein and probiotic dressings. Everything I tried was zingy and imaginative with lively ingredients like kombucha vinegar, biotic mayo, kraut brine and kefir, as well as probiotic hummus dressing the grains and vegetables. For protein, choose from spiced tempeh falafel, Thai salmon fishcakes, feta and sage frittata, or chicken and salsa verde.
For other delectable meals on an LCE budget, you could go for their Gruyere and miso butter sourdough toastie for £5.50 (there's a vegan cheese option too) plus an unpasteurised miso soup for £2.50. Or their cheddar and kraut croissant for £4 along with a red and black quinoa pot with kimchi for £4.
