SPITALFIELDS | E1
Londoners no longer need to give up their Saturday lie-in to queue for Dumpling Shack's delights at Broadway Market. They've recently bagged themselves a permanent spot at Old Spitalfields Market's "The Kitchens" - an exciting new collection of indoor traders that's open daily.
This means bowls of John and Yee's glorious, freshly made dan dan noodles, loaded with stir-fried beef, pickled mustard greens, Sichuan peppercorns, sesame paste, and chilli oil, for £7.50.
It's bloody difficult to eat with dignity, but it's totally worth the mess, as are their next level pork and leek Shengjianbao soup dumplings (£6.50). There's seating galore all around The Kitchens so you should always be able to find somewhere to park yourself once you've ordered.
Look out for £10 lunch special combos of the two aforementioned dishes that you could share alongside their fiery Sichuan Prawn Wontons (£5.50) with a friend. Best of luck splitting up those noodles...
