DEPTFORD | SE8
The Bird's Nest in Deptford is a vibrant pub, music venue, and even a hostel. It also manages to rustle up over 20 different types of burgers and wraps, from as little as £3.50.
The cheeseburger is just £4. That's right, a paltry four British pounds at the Bird's Nest gets you a 6oz beef patty served slightly pink, layered up with homemade mayo, dill pickle, salad, and cheddar cheese, all in a firm and toasted sesame seed bun. That's great value whatever way you slice it.
Some of the other options include a spicy bean burger (£4), a wasabi burger with pickled ginger (£5), and a Hawaiian burger with gammon and pineapple (£6), to name a few.
Another £3 will get you a generous bowl of triple-cooked chunky chips. And these are not your average chip; they're piping hot, skin-on, have crispy and salty outsides, and fluffy insides. Tip: one bowl is plenty for two people.
This is a fab spot for some very good value food, alongside a great calendar of live music. They've also got lots of outside seating for those sunny London days.
