SHOREDITCH | EC2
Born in L.A. and raised in Shoreditch, Bel-Air Food serves "feel good fast food" out of a quaint and bright yellow storefront, beside a busy Shoreditch market square.
Inside, vibrant salads will transport you to sunny California, and you can combine two (£3.50), three (£4.85), or four (£5.75) of them. Pimp them up with some protein, such as roast chicken, lamb koftes, artichoke hearts, or smoked trout (£2 - £3.60), add a cheeky squirt of something saucy (50p), provide your name, and await your box.
In terms of the salads, expect nutritious, flavoursome and seasonal offerings such as The Baja Sweet Potato, The Brocolli and Almond Slaw, The Mexican Quinoa, and more. Whilst the chicken was ok, I'd recommend the more tender and well-seasoned lamb skewers.
It's also worth noting their weekly specials for those after a hot meal, such as Ethiopian beef wat braise, black bean falafel, coconut and pumpkin daal, and blackened chicken with rice, all coming in under £8. You can beat the rush by ordering via their app, and they cater for many dietary requirements. Hard to ask for more, right?
